Arona

Dive Site Features

The Arona sunk in 1972 after a fire in the engine room. The entire crew was evacuated unharmed, they tried to even the Arona in the safe harbor haul - although with all the help came too late. Since that fateful day the ship rests 35 meters below the surface.To get acquainted with all facets of Arona, you need at least 2-3 dives. Because of the muddy substrate, the visibility is often limited. Therefore, you should already have some diving experience to conquer the Arona.

 

This dive spot is by a 25-minute boat ride south from the port of Las Palmas - Puerto de la Luz ("Muelle Deportivo") accessible.
